Anything Under the Sun Made by Man

One of the Saddest Postings I Have Seen in a While

The anonymous Just a Patent Examiner blog has received its last posting.

I enjoyed this blog tremendously, not just because the subject matter was directly applicable, but because the writer looks deep into his subject matter and offers some excellent insight. After a couple months or so of excellent posts, the writer came to realize that it takes a huge amount of time and effort. Even though his efforts were making very important contributions to the collective knowledge of IP blogs—knowledge and insights that were just not available from any other source—he decided that he could not keep up the effort.

The sad part for me is that the insights into the patent office are very rare and valuable. Knowing how the Office operates helps me do my job more effectively and helps me relate to and understand the people with whom I work at the Office. Additionally, the blog is one of the best written blogs I read.

This kind of valuable content is extremely hard to write and consumes a tremendous amount of time. In the end, the return is sometimes not worth the effort.

I am sorry to see the blog go, but I was privileged to have been able to read it.
